I should be thinking about her
“The version of yourself that will be able to handle every situation that might arise in your life will be born in the precise moment that situation comes to be”
This quote climbed into my psyche last year and has found it’s way into so many different pockets of thoughts.
I was deep down a future-thinking spiral. Planning for an imaginary outcome. Ruminating. Rehearsing stress. When this quote drifted up once again to say hello.
“The version of yourself that will be able to handle every situation that might arise in your life will be born in the precise moment that situation comes to be”
I should be thinking about her. And her. And her.
All the versions of me that have gotten me here and all the versions that will show up.
The responsible one.
The intelligent one.
The disciplined one.
The curious one.
The faithful one.
I don’t thank her enough.
Her grace.
Her judgment.
Her restraint.
The incredible decisions that quietly built this life.
In trying to make sure it doesn’t fall apart, I’m failing to recognize the person who is keeping it together.
She’s always there, carving out paths, checking doorways and running plays
so that when I arrive, it can be easy,
so that when I arrive, I can be prepared,
so that when I arrive, I can be myself,
so that when I arrive, it’s taken care of - beautifully - for my enjoyment.
That’s what she’s been doing for me since I had the reasoning to figure it out on my own.
And look at her results.
So lately I’ve been saying thank you.
Thank you for always appearing.
Thank you for preparing me.
Thank you for guiding me.
Thank you for aligning me to the people, places, opportunities and experiences which are aligned to my highest, bravest, most abundant, most creative self.
